In some cases, an instant identity approval of player registration is not possible through the Mass Lottery mobile app. In order to activate your account using the Secure Document Upload feature in the app, please upload images of both types of identifying documents listed below:
A non-expired government-issued identification card that contains a photo (e.g., drivers license, passport, etc.). Please upload an image of the front of your government-issued ID.
An image of the back of your government issued ID is only required when it contains updated
information that is different from the front. For example, if you updated your home address and
received a sticker to put on the back of your ID, then you will need to upload an image of that information.
Social Security card: Please upload an image of the front of your Social Security card.
Proof of Social Security number is required so that we can properly verify the age and identity of a player. This information is requested as part of our validation process to maintain security and to protect your account.
If you do not have your Social Security card, an alternate form of proof that includes your Social
Security Number may be provided such as:
- W-2 Form that displays 9-digit SSN
- SSA-1099 Form that displays 9-digit SSN
- Non-SSA-1099 Form that displays 9-digit SSN
- Pay stub that displays 9-digit SSN
You can upload documents from your device by pressing the “+Add” button. Upon pressing this button, you can either select photos already stored on your device or you may choose to take a new picture.
Please allow 3-5 business days for review and approval of your Mass Lottery Player Account. We will contact you if further information is required to approve your account.
